1

Once Swami Vivekanand was posed the following question by his teacher who disliked him:

"Mr. Vivekanand, if you were walking down the street and found a package, and within was a bag of wisdom and another bag with money, which one would you take?"

Without hesitating, Vivekanandji responded,

"The one with the money, of course."

The teacher, smiling sarcastically said, "I, in your place, would have taken the wisdom."

Swami Vivekanand shrugged and responded, "Each one takes what he doesn't have."

"Why can't you wear proper clothes to look like a gentleman?"

Swami Vivekananda smiled and said:

"In your culture, a tailor makes a gentleman; but, in our culture, Character makes gentleman."

A man asked Swamiji: "What can be worse than losing everything?"

He replied: "Losing that HOPE with which you can actually regain everything."
